Job Title:  Mammography Technologist

Position Summary

Snelling Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join our client’s team. This role is responsible for performing mammographic imaging studies to assist in the detection of breast tissue abnormalities and presenting them for diagnosis. The technologist will also perform dexagram studies while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and imaging quality.


 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients by confirming identification, reviewing imaging requests, and explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Conduct mammography studies by positioning patients, providing instruction, and adjusting equipment controls for optimal results.
  • Apply radiation protection practices to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Maintain production and quality standards by following established protocols and forwarding completed studies for radiologist interpretation.
  • Perform dexagram studies as needed.
  • Keep imaging supplies and equipment stocked and in working order.
  • Document pertinent patient data and complete electronic medical record charting.
  • Follow MQSA standards and maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment.
  • Maintain required licensures and stay current with professional knowledge through continuing education.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited X-ray program.
  • Active State of Kentucky license for X-ray and Mammography.
  • Current ARRT and MQSA certification.
  • Two to three years of experience preferred.
  • Strong patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with mammography and dexagram equipment, as well as standard office equipment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, infection control, and universal precautions.
  • Keyboarding and computer experience required.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Heavy lifting may be required to assist patients.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, and phone with manual dexterity.

Schedule & Pay

  • Pay ranges from  $34.50/hour (1 year of experience) to $52.63/hour (30 years of experience), based on experience and licensure.
  • Candidates open to temporary-only roles should expect a 5-day workweek.
  • Candidates with potential for temp-to-perm may be eligible for a 4×10 workweek schedule.
