Job Description

Snelling is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receiving Lead for a well-established distribution client in Louisville, KY. This position is responsible for overseeing all inbound receiving operations, coordinating the flow of shipments, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency throughout the receiving process. Under the direction of the Inbound and Inventory Supervisor, the Receiving Lead will provide daily leadership to the receiving team, assist in training and scheduling, and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all receiving activities, including logging shipments, inspecting for damages, and processing items into inventory.

• Lead, coach, and support the inbound team through scheduling, training, and performance management.

• Collaborate with other departments (outbound, warehouse, and customer service) to prioritize containers and meet operational goals.

• Implement best practices to reduce damage and improve receiving processes.

• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance before inventory placement.

• Set clear expectations, track performance, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse.

• Respond to internal emails within 24 hours during business hours.

• Enforce safety policies to promote a compliant and accident-free work environment.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory role

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. in a fast-paced environment

• Standing for extended periods of time

• Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting

• Ability to work at heights (up to 22 ft. using a cherry picker)

• Repetitive stair use throughout the day

• Exposure to varying warehouse temperatures
