X-Ray Technician Job Description:

The X-Ray Technician position supports clinical care by performing high-quality diagnostic imaging and assisting with patient care procedures. The X-Ray Technician also ensures accurate, legal documentation and promotes a safe, clean, and patient-focused environment in accordance with OSHA, HIPAA, and departmental policies.

• Obtain vital signs and accurately record patient data.
• Perform radiographic exams and ensure high-quality imaging.
• Maintain radiation safety protocols as per department standards.
• Keep all radiology equipment clean, maintained, and fully stocked.
• Apply splints and braces as needed.
• Assist physicians during exams and medical procedures.
• Set up rooms, equipment, and instruments; practice infection control; order and restock supplies.
• Submit timely maintenance requests.
• Act as a patient advocate with friendly, professional communication.
• Report departmental, operational, or staff issues to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
• Perform quality control and record necessary data.
• Clerical tasks including scheduling, answering phones, filing, completing forms, and updating patient charts.
• Conduct wound dressing changes as indicated.

X-Ray Technician Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• ARRT Certification (Required)
• Kentucky and Indiana State Radiologic Certification (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required)
• Minimum one year of radiology and direct patient care experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Availability for 1st shift, Monday–Friday

X-Ray Technician Preferred Skills:

• Strong organizational and patient care skills
• Familiarity with radiology procedures and equipment
• Experience with clinical documentation
• Comfortable assisting with minor clinical procedures
