Material Handler


Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (weekends as needed) Positions Supervised: 

POSITION SUMMARY The Material Handler Position will primarily be involved in assisting machine operators with moving sheet material on to and off of the various machines on the production floor. The position may involve part assembly including spot welding and requires the packaging parts and other warehouse duties.

Essential Functions Statements • Lifting and holding of long and heavy parts for production steps to be completed. • Plan and implement assembly processes by reading work orders and blue prints and gather the materials to complete the order. • Operate grinders, drills, rivet guns, and other hand tools to assist in assembly operations. • Prepare assembled items for shipment through proper packaging to assure the parts arrive at the end undamaged and to their expectations. • Operate spot welder to finish parts. • Operate pallet jack or forklift to move material to appropriate locations in a safe and effective manner. • Work a regular schedule determined by supervisory management • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: • High School Degree or equivalent and/or related experience required. Experience: • Ability to use direct read measuring devices required. • Previous experience in manufacturing metal fabrication preferred. • Ability to read blue prints and understand functionality of parts and their components. • Ability to operate a forklift and obtain on the job training certification. • Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently. • Ability to train inexperienced co-workers.
