Paralegal

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to work on corporate law matters under the supervision of a Corporate Attorney.  This person will be assisting with corporate transactions and compliance.  They will be required to attend corporate meetings, prepare corporate resolutions, and other legal duties. 

  • Responsible for reviewing, tracking, and monitoring legislation that impacts the company’s services and/or processes.
  • Updating leadership with timely analysis and summaries of new legislation/regulations affecting the business.
  • Assists in implementing changes to contracts to comply with legislation/regulations.
  • Responsible for support related to litigation, mediation, arbitration, and responses to complaints.
  • Renewing and maintaining company licensing.
  • Drafting legal contracts, correspondence and other documents.

Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Japanese
  • Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies.
  • Associate degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team oriented environment.
